Hussainabad (other spellings: Hosseinabad, Husseinabad, Huseinabad) is a village near Hamadan in west-central Iran. The weavers of Hussainabad rugs like to make very long runners with an all-over pattern of small repeated fish throughout the field. Occasionally you'll find a small, diamond-shaped, central medallion. The most popular color of Hussainabad carpets is red, but navy blue and ivory tones are also used in these tribal rugs. |
