Mood (also Moud, Mud) is the name of a village and a region near Birjand in the province of Khorasan. Mood carpets have a design similar to those from Birjand and are marketed through Mashad, the province capital. Moods generally have a rather thick pile and color schemes of red, brown, beige, ivory and blue. Typical designs of Moud rugs include curvilinear patterns like small fish, Herati, and round center medaillons. |
